LOCAL SURF ETHICS
Leading by example is the only way
to conquer peace on Earth.
By always doing the right thing —
with your integrity first, always.
There is no right way.
There is no wrong way.
There is only God’s way —
if you believe it.
So the only thing you can do...
is to do it right,
and to lead by example.
By always adapting to your environment —
especially new ones.
With total respect for the local host,
who always has the priority —
because he or she has earned it on a daily basis.
And now,
you will have to earn it too.
By always giving the respect of priority.
By always preserving at least the first 2 lines
as a courtesy to all the locals —
unless actual circumstances tell you otherwise.
By always being humble.
This is the only way to surf and live the right way —
when we surf in somebody else’s home.
This is the only way to prevent war —
at any level, in any country, at any time.
This is how you surf and live the right way.
Any surfer who does not understand this,
does not understand surf.
Does not understand local surf.
Does not understand life.
