THE PHILANTHROPIST

Any person who donates time, money, experience, skills, or talent to help create a better world.

That’s it.
A philanthropist.
Anybody could be one. Everybody should be one.
It’s not about status. It’s not about wealth.
It’s about heart.

I am a proud human being.
As should we all — because our planet is more than worth it.

I am a proud Canario, because Fuerteventura gave me everything I am today.
I am a proud local, because the traditional way of life is what I represent.
I am proud to be poor, because poor people carry honor, respect, dignity — and most importantly, integrity.

Local life is the cradle of every society.
It’s the natural human way — the sacred lineage of our ancestors.
Even capitalists are realizing this truth today.
That’s why they need holidays.
That’s why they come here.
To us. The locals.

We are all born local — until human greed takes us away.

To stay true to your roots, your culture, your identity — that is the great challenge of humanity.
To respect local ways.
To adapt when you are the outsider.
But many don’t.
Instead, they demand we adapt — to their never-ending story of greed.

And that leaves our communities trapped in their greatest legal addiction:
Money.

Capitalism’s hunger for more has failed us.
It is the reason the world is in chaos.

If people would only stay true to themselves.
If they would remember the basics:
How to lead by example.
How to live with integrity.

That is the secret.
That is the meaning of life.
To inspire others to live and lead with integrity.

Today’s biggest problems — money, drugs, alcohol, sex, parties, social media —
are just the surface.
The real disease is human greed.
And capitalism has gone completely insane.

Even on holiday, people want more.
Even in someone else’s home, culture, surf — they want more.
Without asking. Without presenting. Without even a handshake of respect.

But greed, if understood properly, can also become the solution.
If only used right.

We must protect desire — not for more, but for better.
To let it fuel our integrity.
To become better people. Better parents. Better human beings.

That is what life should be about.
That is what our dreams should be about.

My dreams are big — but simple.
To become the best father and the best human I can be.
To inspire others to do the same.

As did my father.
And his.
And they did.

This is who we are:
Simple, humble human beings.
Living with respect and integrity for the things we truly love.
Not for money.
Not for greed.

That is the difference between the local and the capitalist:
To live humble.
To live with dignity.

I gave up sacrificing my body and mind to society’s greatest addictions.
Because I believe humanity can do anything —
within the realm of integrity.

We can be free.
By doing what’s right.
By understanding the true meaning of freedom.
Through the love of family, life, and surf.

But true freedom is the loneliest place on Earth.
Because knowing how to live without the law — and still doing what is right —
is the hardest thing a human can do.

Anyone can try.
But only a few succeed.
And those who do?
They find true peace.
With themselves.
With their surroundings.
With all they love and believe in.
